On tour: What's in your suitcase?

So you’ve booked your place, organised your transport, and shortly you’ll be leaving rainy, cold England for Europe to spend a few weeks on tour. You’ve trained hard for this moment and the horses are all ready to go.

But now – what on earth do you pack? We asked Espayo rider Chloe Winchester what’s in her suitcase as she heads to Lanaken for their 3 week tour.

"It’s a real treat to be able to take the horses away to Europe during the winter. They all love competing in the big arenas on the continent, but it takes some planning!

Here’s my pack list:

3 x Cavalleria Toscana training breeches

2 x Cavalleria Toscana white breeches

2 x Equiline white breeches

2 x Cavalleria Toscana short-sleeve show shirts

2 x Cavalleria Toscana long-sleeve show shirts

2 x Cavalleria Toscana show jackets – one navy and one black

1 x Cavalleria Toscana Back Bib waterproof jacket

1 x Cavalleria Toscana Espayo branded gilet

1 x Cavalleria Toscana bomber jacket

The first thing in my suitcase is breeches. We show Thursday-Sunday at Lanaken so I need to have plenty to get me through the week. My favourites are the CT Supergrip Breeches, especially in the summer as they are super breathable and comfy to ride in all day.

I also pack dark-coloured breeches for the days where the horses aren’t competing – and in the young-horse classes where you’re often allowed to compete in more casual riding gear.

The CT Back Bib waterproof jacket is also a favourite as its really fitted and looks smart to wear in the young horse classes. It also perfect for those rainy days – you can guarantee there’s always a few!
