It has been a full year for all of us at Espayo, but we are now heading towards the final show of the season, the incomparable Olympia International Horse Show. We have two stands again this year, so we are expecting to be busy as usual, but once it’s over we will have a few days to wrap the presents and decorate the tree before we start looking forward to 2019.
We are finishing 2018 on a high, having recently signed up as stockists of Equiline, a classic Italian equestrian clothing company. We have just taken our first delivery and will be unveiling the first of our Equiline stock at Olympia, including some of their breeches, shirts and show jackets. We are delighted to have added another premium quality brand to our roster of outstanding riding clothes.
Looking back at the 2018 schedule, we haven’t been able to even guestimate the number of miles travelled or customers greeted. We are always so pleased to meet customers in person, hear their news and views and give them all the low down on our plans, which shows we are going to and what new stock is coming in. We particularly enjoyed Knokke Hippique, Belgium, this year. It was our third year exhibiting there, and we always meet great new customers at this quality event held at its lovely venue near Antwerp. We are definitely aiming to go back in 2019.
As to our Ambassadors, we have watched them achieve some great results this year, including two Firsts for Louise Bell at Hickstead, in the Premier League Grand Prix and Premier League Grand Prix Freestyle. These were followed a string of 2 nd and 3 rd places in the Nations Cup, at Saumur and then Le Mans. What a great season!
Alfie Bradstock collected his own 1 st place rosette when he jointly won (with Guy Williams) the Thistledown Puissance at HOYS on H.D’or. This was only his second ever Puissance at the time, so it was a wonderful result and we are incredibly proud to be one of his sponsors. Karel Cox had some great rounds for his team in the Global Champions League, two wonderful Grand Prix wins, at HOYS and Brussels, and he recently came a fantastic fourth on Dublin at Doha after a jump off between sixteen competitors.
So that is 2018 wrapped up and delivered. Now on to 2019. We have already set a hectic timetable for next year, with planned attendance at Vilamoura, Portugal, Badminton, HOYS, Royal Windsor, The Scope Festival, Knokke, The European Pony Championships and of course back to Olympia. And this is to name just a few! We will publish our full show schedule shortly.
We wish all our friends and customers a Happy Christmas and joyful New Year!
